All3Media’s Lime Pictures is launching of L16, a purpose built studio located within its Liverpool campus.
L16 is aiming for use by producers of both scripted and unscripted content. In addition to the studio space, Lime will also offer post production facilities and the opportunity to use existing sets.
The new studio has green rooms, galleries, edit suites, catering, on-site parking and a hair and a make-up suite.
The first production set to film in the new space is Girl Troop vs Aliens, a CBBC scripted comedy-drama from Lime Kids, producers of the acclaimed Netflix series, Free Rein and Zero Chill.
As well as scripted, L16 Studio, named after its postcode in Liverpool’s Childwall, provides filming space for a range of unscripted programming including gameshows, chat shows and entertainment programming, and can accommodate studio audiences.
“We are delighted to offer first class unrivalled production facilities right here in Liverpool,” said John Whittle, Managing Director of Lime Pictures. “This investment strengthens the North West’s role as a true powerhouse in the UK’s creative and broadcast industries. From high end dramas to global streaming content, we are ready to support the next wave of storytelling.
“With decades of experience in premium drama, we have the sets, the in-house talent, and the infrastructure to deliver an exceptional production experience. L16 is a world-class space where producers can create standout content while generating real investment in the region and new opportunities for local talent to thrive.”
