Zinc Media Group has announced the launch of Zinc Distribution.
Heading to MIPCOM this October, the team will be showcasing the company’s catalogue in Cannes, featuring titles such as: Terror at 30,000 Feet, Police Interceptors and Stonehenge: The Lost Circle Revealed.
The launch of Zinc Distribution builds on the recently acquired Raw Cut’s established in-house distribution arm. Raw Cut has previously sold the 300 hours of its Channel 5 show Police Interceptors across Europe and Australasia. Zinc Distribution will also have Zinc Media Group’s extensive back catalogue and development pipeline in its catalogue.
Zinc Distribution will be led by Steve Warr (Executive Director, Raw Cut) and draw on the expertise of Zinc Group’s distribution and commercial consultant, Paul Hanrahan. Alex Colebeck moves from Raw Cut Distribution to become Head of International Sales and Ziella Bryars is Group Distribution Manager at the newly formed division.
Zinc Media Group houses 11 labels that produce hundreds of hours of new content each year.
Historically, content has been placed with a variety of distributors seeing its shows placed in more than 150 territories and Zinc Distribution aims to augment these successes. By centralising the group’s distribution activity, Zinc Distribution will “strengthen relationships with existing distribution partners, forge new partnerships with broadcasters and digital platforms, and drive programme sales and revenue streams across digital content, format licences and merchandising opportunities.”
Steve Warr (Zinc Distribution Executive Director) said: “Zinc Distribution is primed to maximise the potential of the Group’s incredible and ever-growing content portfolio. Through our longstanding partnerships and relationships, this is an exciting opportunity to expand our reach, unlock fresh revenue streams, and deliver impactful, high-quality content to global audiences. Our focus is on driving the Group’s growth and broadening our international presence”.
Paul Hanrahan (Group Distribution & Commercial Consultant) added: “The launch of Zinc Distribution marks the culmination of years of investment in content creation and distribution, enabling us to harness the power of our extensive back catalogue. We’re all excited to be able to control more of our IP going forward and manage global sales of our content. In addition, by capitalising on our rich library of IP, we’re well-positioned to lead in the ever-evolving digital distribution landscape and drive sustainable long-term growth”.
Alex Colebeck (Head of International Sales) also added: “It’s fantastic to be able to welcome further factual programming to an already healthy catalogue of content. With these additional content pipelines in place it means we should see sturdy year on year growth. I’m excited to be part of this big step forward.”
