Netflix has released the trailer for upcoming thriller, Hostage, starring and exec produced by Suranne Jones.

The show is set to launch globally on August 21st.

The five-part series stars and is executive produced by Suranne Jones, marking her first project with Netflix. It’s written by Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies, Treason).

When the British Prime Minister’s husband is kidnapped and the visiting French President is blackmailed, the two political leaders both face unimaginable choices. Forced into a fierce rivalry where their political futures, and lives, might hang in the balance, can they work together to uncover the plot that threatens them both?

Cast includes Suranne Jones, Julie Delpy, Corey Mylchreest, Lucian Msamati, Ashley Thomas, James Cosmo, Martin McCann and Jehnny Beth.

It’s produced by Netflix with Binocular. Writer and exec producer is Matt Charman. Exec producers are Suranne Jones, Foz Allan, and Steve Searle and the series producer is David Meanti. The directors are Isabel Sieb and Amy Neil.
