The first commission in response to Channel 4’s Nations and Regions Digital Factual Brief is Findoms: Uncovered, a 1×25’ film from Glasgow-based Tern TV, a Zinc Media company. It will air on Channel 4 Documentaries on YouTube.

Made in partnership with Screen Scotland, Findoms: Uncovered sees presenter, journalist and model Sydney Lima investigate the world of financial domination in which men willingly hand over cash in exchange for humiliation, power play and control.

Lima travels the UK to meet women making big money from financial domination, exploring the activities these women undertake, and discovering the highs and lows of working in this fast-growing but little-understood digital subculture.

The 1×25’ film was commissioned by Laura Marks, Senior Digital Commissioning Editor, with Sacha Khari, Head of Digital Commissioning. It is made by Tern TV in partnership with Screen Scotland and the Executive Producer is David Marshall, with Conor Reilly as Producer-Director, and Katie Melville as Production Manager.

Laura Marks, Senior Digital Commissioning Editor for Channel 4, said: “The response to our Nations and Regions Factual Brief brought us so many brilliant ideas specifically for YouTube and Findoms: Uncovered if the first of a slate of exciting new commissions. It’s a thrill to work with Tern TV and Screen Scotland to explore this fascinating subject with the brilliant Sydney Lima.”

David Marshall, Executive Producer at Tern TV, said: “It’s a bold and exciting first step for Tern into digital, and we can’t wait for audiences to see it.”

Sydney Lima said: “I was absolutely chuffed when Laura Marks approached me to front this documentary. My work has long been driven by a fascination with online subcultures – particularly the increasingly blurred lines between influencer culture and sex work. Thanks to the brilliant team at Tern, we were able to get closer than ever to the world of financial domination and take the opportunity to explore and shed light on this often-misunderstood community.”

Findoms: Uncovered airs on Channel 4 Documentaries on YouTube on Thursday 23rd October from 5pm and will also be available to stream on Channel 4.
