One Tribe TV has been commissioned by CICC, Insight TV and CMG in China to produce a high-end factual adventure co-production that will follow record-breaking explorer Ash Dykes on an epic 3,400-mile expedition along the full length of China’s Yellow River.

The Amsterdam-based global channel and FAST streaming group, Insight TV, recently acquired the producer-distributor Off The Fence.

Ash Dykes’ Yellow River Adventure (3 x 60 mins) will combine adventure, survival and cultural storytelling as Dykes undertakes a multi-disciplinary journey, travelling via land, air and water, from the river’s remote source in the high-altitude glaciers of the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau to its mouth at the Bohai Sea.

Ash Dykes said: “For me, this is more than an expedition. It’s a chance to tell the story of the Yellow River’s past, present, and future through the lens of adventure, survival, and human connection. It’s the biggest and most ambitious project of my career so far.”

This international project builds on the Dykes’ previous China-based expeditions, including his world-first trek along the entire Yangtze River. It marks One Tribe’s second major factual documentary collaboration with Chinese producers.

Dale Templar, Executive Producer and Co-Founder of One Tribe, says: “We have a proven track record in delivering ambitious factual projects for the international market. This series is One Tribe at its best, bringing together high-end factual storytelling, epic human endeavour and genuine cross-cultural partnership. Working with Insight, CICC and CMG allows us to tell the story of the Yellow River at a scale and ambition worthy of its place in human history.”

Lisette Schlippe, Global VP: FAST & Content – Insight TV, added: “Ash Dykes is not only an inspiring explorer, but also a gifted storyteller whose resilience and vision make him the ideal figure to lead such an ambitious project. With One Tribe’s proven expertise, together with CICC and CMG, Ash Dykes’ Yellow River Adventure brings this remarkable journey to life on an international scale. It’s a compelling story that reflects the kind of high-impact factual programming we’re proud to share with audiences around the world.”

Based in Wales (Chepstow) and the West of England (Bath), One Tribe is owned and run by award-winning factual programme makers Dale Templar and Owen Gay and produces a wide range of popular and specialist factual content. Recent One Tribe TV series include In the Footsteps of Marco Polo for CCTV/Blue Ant, Sex: A Bonkers History for Sky History, The Emerald Isles for BBC/TG4, Wonders of the Celtic Deep for the BBC, Jonnie’s Blade Camp for Channel 4 and BAFTA Cymru-nominated Liz Johnson: Swimming Against the Tide for BBC One Wales and iPlayer. It exclusively produces the One Big Thank You segment on BBC One’s The One Show, along with many of its VTs – making more film content for The One Show than any other company in the UK.

Dale Templar from One Tribe is the executive producer of Ash Dykes’ Yellow River Adventure.  It was commissioned by Lisette Schlippe, Global VP: FAST & Content at Insight TV, CICC and CMG. Insight is also handling international distribution.
