Middlechild Productions is launching Wildchild Studios, a sister company dedicated to digital content.
Middlechild’s I Printed a Gun: Plastic and Deadly (pictured) helped change UK law on 3D-printed firearms. The Brighton and Newcastle-based indie has also had success with its first YouTube channel – Gardening with Alan Titchmarsh.
Wildchild’s slate kicks off with two YouTube channels — one fronted by a top-tier chef, and another diving into the pet world with a household-name presenter. By the end of 2026, Wildchild aims to be running five original YouTube channels.
“We’ve been making digital first content for a while now,” said David Sumnall Founder and CEO of Middlechild Productions, who will oversee Wildchild alongside MD Andrew Eastel. “It felt like the perfect moment to create a stand-alone studio built entirely around digital storytelling and innovation.”
The studio will extend from hard-hitting documentaries like Prison Stories and World’s Most Dangerous Rescues (Quintus), to presenter-led films like Therapy: Tough Talking and Jordan North’s Truth About Vaping (BBC Three).
Wildchild will also be producing content for leading online platforms including OMG Stories, Filth, and Origin, through a new partnership with Upstream.
