BBC Studios Productions has announced that Vice Studios’ Jamie Hall will join its business in January 2026 to take up the role of Managing Director for Scripted, reporting directly to Zai Bennett.

He will take over from Mark Linsey who, as BBC Studios Productions’ President, LA Scripted, will now fully focus on expanding the scripted footprint in the US leading the scripted LA unit.

BBC Studios is home to its Drama and Fiction & Comedy in-house teams as well as owned labels including Lookout Point, Baby Cow, Firebird Pictures, House Productions, Sid Gentle Films Ltd and Clerkenwell Films.

Hall will be responsible for shaping the creative and commercial strategy across a slate that includes British TV mainstays like EastEnders, Silent Witness, Doctor Who and Casualty as well as award-winning original hit series such as Baby Reindeer, Killing Eve, Time, and Happy Valley.

Hall brings over three decades of experience from across the UK and international scripted production landscape with a career spanning senior leadership roles at Vice Media, Pulse Films, Big Light Productions, Eleven Film, Lime Pictures, and the BBC. He has overseen both scripted and non-scripted content, with credits including Gangs of LondonAtomic, Medici: Masters of Florence, The Man in the High Castle, Glue, and Gap Year, as well as UK classics such as Hollyoaks & Grange Hill.

He joins from Vice Studios where he is President of Vice Studios UK, leading production and distribution across scripted, non-scripted, feature film, and commercial content.

In his new role, Hall will be tasked with “aligning content strategy with market dynamics, optimising rights and funding models, and ensuring BBC Studios Scripted remains a leading supplier in the international marketplace.”
