Netflix has released first look images for its up coming drama, House of Guinness, from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight and production company Kudos.
Set in the 1860s, it tells the story of the early days of the famous Dublin brewery and the family that gave it its name.
The series will launch on September 25th.
“It’s the extraordinary story of a family who happens to be the inheritors of the biggest brewery in the world. They’re young and are given the task of taking on this incredibly successful brand,” Knight says. “The first priority is: Don’t screw it up. And the second priority is to make Guinness even bigger.”
The series is created and executive produced by Knight. Karen Wilson, Elinor Day, Martin Haines, Tom Shankland, and Ivana Lowell are also EPs. Cahal Bannon is a series producer and Howard Burch is a producer. Shankland directed four episodes and Mounia Akl directed two episodes of House of Guinness, which is a Kudos production.
The series was shot in Manchester and at Space Studios Manchester. While the grade was completed at Goldcrest and the final audio mix by Nigel Squibbs at Harbor Picture Company.
Knight previously partnered with Kudos on the 2022 war thriller SAS: Rogue Heroes (also known as Rogue Heroes in the US and Australia). After that successful collaboration, the production house came to Knight with the Guinness family story. “They thought this project might be of interest to me since I’m interested in beer,” he says. “And my answer was, ‘Yes, definitely!’”
