Channel 4 is to explore alcohol-free booze in one-off doc hosted by Denise Van Outen and produced by Ricochet.

In the 1×60 documentary “Alcohol-free Booze: Is It Worth It?”, Denise Van Outen will “peel back the lid” on some of the most popular alcohol-free beers, wines and spirits on the market and investigate what goes into these drinks.  Across the special, she will explore how these drinks are made, whether they are actually healthy to consume in comparison to alcoholic drinks and junk food.

“From consumer taste tests to compelling scientific research, this eye-opening documentary will uncover the hidden secrets of the industry, the health benefits of swapping alcohol for zero-free plonk – and most importantly telling us whether we should really be swapping our alcohol for alcohol free products or ditching both completely!”

Alcohol-free Booze: Is It Worth It? is being produced by Ricochet and executive produced by Rob Butterfield and Sandy Watson. It was commissioned for Channel 4 by Director of Commissioning, Nations & Regions & Head of Lifestyle, Jo Street and Commissioning Editor of Lifestyle, Deborah Dunnett.
