The Weakest Link, hosted by Romesh Ranganathan, is to return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn.

Three specials of the BBC Studios Entertainment-produced show will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in October; a Radio 2 special sees Romesh challenge his fellow Radio 2 presenters to be crowned The Strongest Link of the network, followed by ‘Battle of the Nations’ where stars from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland play for national pride. Then a Redemption special welcomes back celebrities who have been voted off first in previous episodes.

The new series continues from December onwards with a further nine episodes including a Christmas edition and a New Years ‘party’ amongst others.

Romesh says: “The Weakest Link is back and better than ever with three superb specials airing next month and more from Christmas. I’m not biased when I say it’s a brilliant show, and I’m looking forward to bringing more awkward pauses and tense goodbyes to Saturday nights on BBC One.”

The Weakest Link (12 x 60) is a BBC Studios Entertainment production for BBC One and BBC iPlayer and was commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC. The Executive Producers for BBC Studios are Pete Ogden and Gareth Edwards and the Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Neil McCallum.
