Bradley Down has been appointed the new Head of Development for BBC Drama.

Down has worked as the Acting Head of Development for BBC Drama for the past six months and prior to that he was a Commissioning Executive on shows including EastEnders, Cheaters, Just Act Normal and Babies. Bradley is also working on forthcoming dramas Open Water and Honey.

Before working at the BBC, he was Senior Development Executive at Complete Fiction Pictures and he also worked as a Development Executive at Big Talk.

Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, says: “Brad has been an outstanding asset to BBC Drama since he joined and a real joy to work with. Brad’s all about backing brave and entertaining work full of purpose and surprise, so he’ll be a great support and champion for producers and talent. I’m excited about the raft of BBC dramas coming through over the next couple of years and Brad will be an integral part of this onwards journey.”
