Filming has commenced on It Gets Worse, a new comedy series written, created by and starring Leo Reich, produced by A24 for Channel 4, and co-commissioned by Bell Media’s Crave for Canada.
Joining the ensemble cast will be Emily Fairn (House of Guinness, The Responder), Olive Gray (Save Me, Halo), Sean Delaney (Killing Eve, Life After Life), Dane Williams (What It Feels Like for A Girl, House of David), India Mullen (Normal People, Brassic), and writer, actor and comedian John Tothill.
It Gets Worse follows Ethan, Abi, and Sam. Best friends from uni, soulmates for life, and dysfunctional roommates. It’s been a year since they finally managed to move to London, they have collectively accomplished nothing, and now their landlord is selling up. They’re getting kicked out. What now? Can they keep their friendships alive when they are dispersed across a city that seems to want them dead? Can they find a six out of ten or higher to have bad sex with? Can they get their shit together when the world is so obviously falling apart? Probably not. But they’re going to have fun trying.
It Gets Worse was commissioned for Channel 4 by Charlie Perkins, Head of Comedy and will be produced by A24. Sam Pinnell (Trying, Motherland, Derry Girls) is the producer and the series is directed by Mounia Akl (House of Guinness, The Responder, Boiling Point). Emmy winner Matthew Lewis (Adolescence) is the Director of Photography.
A 6×30” production, It Gets Worse will air on Channel 4 next year.
In Canada, It Gets Worse will stream exclusively on Crave as a Crave Original.
