Netflix has released a trail for the new documentary series, Mourinho, made by John Battsek label Ventureland. The series will launch on the platform on August 11th.

Filmed over two years, Mourinho tells the story of the man who revolutionised what it meant to be a football manager, charting his rise, winning league titles in four different countries and lifting the Champions League twice.

The three-part documentary has exclusive access to Mourinho, alongside interviews with Sir Alex Ferguson, John Terry, Iker Casillas, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Didier Drogba, Marcelo, Samuel Eto’o, Javier Zanetti, Frank Lampard, Petr Čech.

Producers John Battsek and Miles Coleman worked with director Joe Pearlman (Robbie Williams; Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now).

Founded by Academy Award-winning producer John Battsek (One Day in September, Searching for Sugarman) and partners Kerstin Emhoff, Ali Brown, and Paul Hunter, Ventureland’s credits include The Rescue (Nat Geo Doc Films), Laura McGann’s The Deepest Breath (A24/Netflix), Wham! (Netflix);  Bobi Wine: The People’s President (Nat Geo Doc Films). Ventureland also produced four-part series Beckham.

More recently, Ventureland premiered Amir Bar-Lev’s The Last First: Winter K2 at Sundance Film Festival 2026 where it was acquired by Apple.

Ventureland is currently in production on a number of projects and most recently produced the 3 part Kylie doc series for Netflix
