MD of ITV Studios’ new entertainment label, Lily Wilson, has announced that the name of the new unit will be Bright Entertainment.
Alongside this, Wilson also unveiled the label’s first commission as The Chase Around the World, a new prime time format from the creators of ITV’s award-winning and globally successful game show, The Chase.
Hosted by Bradley Walsh, The Chase Around the World will take contestants on a global adventure competition. The new six-part series sees six pairs of contestants attempt to track down the biggest brains in Britain – all six of The Chasers – in undisclosed locations around the globe. Unravelling puzzles along the way, the winning pair will pit their knowledge against The Chasers in order to win a life-changing prize pot.
The Chase Around the World commission builds on quiz show format, The Chase, commissioned in 22 territories worldwide, including the US. The series has been running for 17 years on ITV.
Lily Wilson, Managing Director, Bright Entertainment comments: “What better way to launch Bright Entertainment – not only with the news of our inaugural commission, but a reimagining of one of the most successful television quiz formats. The Chase Around the World is a fittingly global evolution for an iconic format, developed and being produced by a great team. We look forward to launching the series later this year and it being the first of many more exciting formats to come.”
Bradley Walsh said: “This bold new take on The Chase combines quizzing with travelling and will test contestants’ knowledge like never before. The Chasers are already famous around the world, so fans can look forward to seeing them ply their trade in some superb secret locations.”
ITV Studios announced in September 2025 its ambition to open a new label dedicated to scalable entertainment, reality and competitive formats. Headed up by Wilson, the senior team will include: Creative Director Tom Williams, who recently joined from TalkbackThames and the experienced Potato team – Creative Directors Martin Scott and Phil Mount, Head of Production Christina Clayton, and Ian Gill, newly promoted to Director of Development, who have transitioned over to Bright Entertainment.
The Chase Around the World adds to Bright Entertainment’s portfolio of Potato’s and 12 Yard’s catalogue, which now sit under the new label, including: The Chase and Beat the Chasers both for ITV; Bullseye with Freddie Flintoff, also for ITV, which recently returned for a new series; Celebrity Puzzling, which has just been recommissioned by 5 for 50 more episodes and The Finish Line for the BBC.
The Chase Around The World was commissioned by Sue Murphy, Director of Factual Entertainment Commissioning ITV and Kate Teckman, Head of Development and Commissioning Editor, Factual Entertainment ITV. Executive Producers are Phil Mount, Martin Scott and Mark Saben. Christina Clayton is Head of Production. Development was led by Phil Mount and Ian Gill.
The Chase Around the World is produced by Bright Entertainment, part of ITV Studios. ITV Studios will handle international distribution. It will air later this year.
Bright Entertainment has production bases in London and Glasgow.
