Warp Films drama Adolescence has been recognised with a nomination for the Golden Globe for Best TV Limited Series. Sixteen year old star of the series Owen Cooper is also up for a Golden Globe, as are co-stars Stephen Graham, Ashley Walters and Erin Doherty.
Other British nods include feature film Hamnet, a co-production from Hera, Neal Street, Amblin and Book of Shadows, for Best Motion Picture – Drama. It’s also nominated for Best Screenplay for a Motion Picture, with Chloe Zhao (also nominated for Best Director) and Maggie o’ Farrell (author of Hamnet) sharing the nomination.
Also up for best Limited or Anthology series is Black Mirror, from Broke and Bones. While the Best TV Series – Drama includes See-Saw’s Slow Horses.
British actor nominees for the Hollywood gongs also include Gary Oldman, for Slow Horses, Aimee Lou Wood for The White Lotus and Helen Mirren for Mobland.
Helen Mirren is to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from the
Jacob Elordi has two nominations, for The Narrow Road to the Deep North and Guillermo de Toro’s Frankenstein.
Also receiving nods are Cynthia Erivo for Wicked for Good, Emily Blunt for The Smashing Machine, Tessa Thompson for Hedda, Jude Law for Black Rabbit and Bella Ramsay for The Last of Us.
From Ireland, there are nominations for Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, stars of Hamnet.
Nick Cave and Bryce Dessner are up for Best Original Song, with Train Dreams.
This year’s Golden Globes will take place on 11th January.
