Optomen, part of All3Media, has appointed Laura Leigh to the newly-created role of Head of Reality.

Leigh will take up the new position early next year and will oversee the company’s expanding slate of reality shows, reporting to Optomen’s Joint CEOs, Tina Flintoff and Nick Hornby

Leigh has worked with Optomen since 2022, with executive producing stints on some of the indie’s biggest hits including series one of At Home With The Furys for Netflix and Olivia Attwood’s Getting Filthy Rich and The Price of Perfection for ITV. Leigh was also the showrunner for Box to Box Films’ Matchroom: The Greatest Showmen, for Netflix, before rejoining Optomen this summer as executive producer of series two of At Home With The Furys.

Prior to her time at Optomen Laura was Series Editor on Netflix’s The Circle, Amazon’s Lovestruck High, and E4s Celebs go Dating.

Meanwhile, Optomen’s Head of Popular Factual, Charlotte Brookes, will take on an expanded role as Head of Factual Entertainment where she will lead on a bigger portfolio of content, concentrating on the company’s growing slate of successful formats.

Tina Flintoff and Nick Hornby, said: ‘We are delighted Laura has agreed to join us on a permanent basis as Head of Reality. She is incredibly creative, a brilliant storyteller and a gifted showrunner. Next year is going to be another very busy year and we couldn’t be happier to have someone of Laura’s calibre running such an important part of our business. Charlotte Brookes has made a huge impact at Optomen over the past 5 years and her skills and expertise will be an enormous boost in her expanded role.

Optomen’s recent shows include: The Princess Diaries, ITV2’s highest rated show of the year so far behind Love Island and Love Island All Stars, Sort Your Life Out which is now in its 7th series and Stacey and Joe for BBC One, Tommy : The Good The Bad the Fury for the BBC, Olivia Attwood: Bad Boyfriends and the award-winning SKY feature documentary Becoming Madonna. Optomen is also in production with a raft of new shows including a feature documentary about Tyson Fury for Netflix.
