Sony Pictures Television International Production has announced that Sacha Khari is to join the group’s recently announced digital initiative in the newly created role Senior Vice President, Creative – Digital Studio.

Currently the Head of Digital Commissioning at Channel 4, Khari will join Matt Ford, the commercial lead on the UK initiative, and together they will establish and drive the digital content strategy.  Through engaging with UK content creators on creating digital originals and building creator partnerships, the initiative will supercharge the group’s work on creating digital-first original content for streaming, digital, social, audio platforms.

Khari and Ford will lead the team and will report into Matthew Justice, EVP, UK & Europe, and will work closely with Justice, Hannah Smith (VP, Operations, SPT) and President, International Production, Wayne Garvie.

Khari joined Channel 4 in 2021 in the newly created post of Head of Digital Commissioning, taking on responsibility for all social and digital content commissioning across entertainment, factual, comedy, food and branded genres.

In that time, he devised and launched Channel 4.0, growing the digital-first brand to over a billion views, with more than 2.5 million subscribers and an audience base of 85% under 34. In 2025 he launched Channel 4 Served and A Comedy Thing by Channel 4. Prior to joining Channel 4, Khari was Group Director of Video at UNILAD, overseeing strategy, development, production and delivery of all original and commercial content globally, before moving over to LADbible Group as Head of Video.  His previous roles also include Head of Video at Bauer Media and Commissioning Director at The Beats Recordings/Warner Music.

Sacha Khari says, “We’ve shown how powerful digital can be when it sets the pulse of a broadcaster, and driving that at Channel 4 with the talent around me has been immense. At Sony Pictures, the opportunity is to take it global: building for now while punching in on what the future of content looks like. Re-uniting with Matt to turn the dial again, alongside Matthew, Hannah and Wayne, feels like a serious privilege, significant and very, very cool.”

Matthew Justice, EVP, Head of UK & Europe, says, “When we decided to set up our digital studio initiative, our aim was to go and get the best people to lead the business. Sacha has forged a reputation as being at the forefront of the digital transformation of the industry. We are thrilled to welcome him to SPT as the creative lead of this division. Alongside Matt Ford, as our commercial lead we have the team we dreamed of – now comes the exciting phase: working with the UK’s creator economy sector to create a new era of great global content”

Khari will join SPT International Production early in 2026.
