Following a competitive tender process, BBC Studios has retained the contract to continue producing Rip Off Britain, the BBC Daytime consumer show.
The BBC Studios’ bid scored highest against the published criteria.
Rip Off Britain was put out to tender in February 2025. The tendering of returning series forms part of the BBC’s contestability requirements.
The contract is for three series per year of 15 episodes each of 45 mins; a total of 90 episodes across two years, commencing transmission from Spring 2026.
Rob Unsworth, Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning: “Rip Off Britain is a key part of the BBC Daytime schedule that tackles the issues that matter to our viewers, and we were impressed with the ideas that BBC Studios came up with to continue to drive forward the success of this brand. This was an extremely competitive process and we would like to commend all the shortlisted producers for the high quality and comprehensive bids they put forward.”
