Rare TV’s Belfast and Dublin production hubs have won a raft of recommissions from the BBC and RTÉ.

The BBC  has ordered new seasons of long-running brands Expert Witness and Digging For Britain, and RTÉ has ordered a 10th Season of Crimecall, a fifth season of The Case I Can’t Forget, and a second season of Futureville Ireland.

Expert Witness (Season 5, 15×30’) reveals how science helped solve some the UK’s toughest criminal investigations. In each episode, forensic experts in blood spatter, gait analysis, facial reconstruction, insects, soil and more, open their case books and share the evidence that helps detectives to bring criminals to justice.

Digging for Britain (Season 13, 6×60’) follows Professor Alice Roberts and a team of experts who dig deeper to understand the stories behind their finds, as the most exciting artefacts are analysed and understood in a way that provides insight and revelation spanning 10,000 years of British history. TVF International is the worldwide distribution partner.

RTÉ One’s hit science series Futureville Ireland (Season 2, 3×60’) sees presenters Carla O’Brien and Dr Lollie Mancey design a future city for Ireland and explore the science today that could shape life for residents there in 2050.  From chips planted in our brains to homes built by robots, and from a new food created out of thin air to giant kites that could power a town, Futureville Ireland will show viewers the better future that could await us all.

Crimecall (Season 10, 10×60’, coproduced with Green Inc Film and TV) is RTÉ‘s flagship crime appeals programme, made in conjunction with the Irish police service, An Garda Siochana. In each monthly episode, presenter Carla O’Brien, together with serving detectives, appeals for the public’s help to solve major ongoing investigations in the Republic of Ireland.

The Case I Can’t Forget (4×60’, coproduced with Green Inc Film and TV) is RTÉ’s hit true crime format in which serving and retired police detectives describe the emotions, twists and turns of one major police investigation that shaped their careers. From murder and kidnap to human trafficking and smuggling the series offers searing insights into life as a front-line detective.
