Bristol’s The Bottle Yard Studios has appointed Katherine Nash as Head of Studios.
Nash will lead on all commercial aspects of the running of the Bristol Studio’s two sites and 11 stages – including sales, operations, client relationships and strategic partnerships. Working closely with Bristol City Council, she will play a critical role in business planning and future strategic growth of the Studios.
In her previous role as Business Operations Manager, held since 2020, Nash played an integral role in the operational design and delivery of The Bottle Yard’s £12m TBY2 facility, which opened in 2022 adding three state-of-the-art soundstages to the Studio’s overall portfolio.
During this time, under her additional capacity as Sustainability Strategy Lead, she was a driving force behind TBY2’s 1MW rooftop solar array, funded by Bristol Energy Cooperative, believed to be the UK’s biggest community-owned PV rooftop and part of Bristol City Council’s innovative City Leap sleeving network. This innovative project went on to win the 2023 Global Production Award at Cannes for Best Sustainability Initiative. Earlier thisyear TBY2 was named the highest performing studio among more than 30 facilities in the 2025/26 BAFTA albert Studio Sustainability Standard, achieving an ‘Outstanding’ rating alongside the Studios’ main site ‘Excellent’ certification. The Bottle Yard Studios was also shortlisted for Studio of the Year at the 2025 Global Production Awards at Cannes.
Nash brings more than 20 years’ experience to the Head of Studios role, having started out in the field of locations for High End TV drama production across the South West before moving into studio operations in 2011, as the newly founded Bottle Yard’s first Studio Coordinator.
Katherine Nash says: “As someone who has been passionately committed to The Bottle Yard since its inception, I’m excited to bring to this role my knowledge and experience of the Studios and its important position within the wider filming ecosystem in Bristol and the West of England. I look forward to delivering the best studio experience for The Bottle Yard’s valued clients and ensuring that the three core principles of our brand – Studios, Sustainability and Skills – are embedded throughout the business.”
This announcement follows the departure of Laura Aviles, who oversaw The Bottle Yard Studios as part of her role as Head of Film for Bristol City Council from September 2020 until July 2025.
