Channel 4 has ordered 10 Days to 10k?, a new one-off show in which Scarlett Moffatt will put side hustles to the test to see which can make “maximum profit with minimal effort.”

The show is made for Channel 4 by Scottish-based indie Flabbergast TV.

Scarlett and her team of busy Brits will test each money-making activity for profitability and how easy they are to do alongside their day-to-day lives.  From selling crafts and pre-loved products, to digital money makers like Dropshipping (selling products online and outsourcing fulfilment purposes) and print on demand. Scarlett will try out a list of activities to work out which are the easiest and most profitable to set-up and run in just 10 days. Alongside busy mum Scarlett, helping her test out the many money-making ideas, she is enlisting two recruits. One will be a part-time worker, and the other recruit will have the most available schedule out of the three. Scarlett and co. will each trial different methods to decipher whether it’s possible to achieve the annual £10k target. Or indeed more.

Deborah Dunnett, Commissioning Editor, Channel 4, said: “I’ll be honest, I hate the term ‘side-hustle’, but research shows nearly half of Brits have a second income, and they allegedly average out at £10,000 a year. Imagine being handed that in cash… Some people say they give up the day job entirely. But what we want to know is, can everyday folks do it as easily as social media would suggest? Flabbergast TV have delivered an excellent idea, and I can’t wait for viewers to find out what’s worth their time and effort and what isn’t.”

Andrew Snowball, Creative Director, Flabbergast TV: “We can’t wait for people to see Scarlett as they’ve never seen her before. Investigating the big claims about how easy it is to make money from seemingly endless side-hustles, she thrown herself into finding out first hand which ones are easy to set-up, which will leave you tearing your hair out and which could make us all an extra 10k a year without taking over our already busy lives. Her investigation is funny, surprising and for anyone wanting to know the best way of beefing up their bank balance, not to be missed.”

10 Days to 10k? (1 x 60’) is commissioned by Deborah Dunnett, Commissioning Editor with Jo Street, Director of Commissioning, Nations & Regions and Head of Lifestyle. The series is executive produced by Andrew Snowball with junior executive producer Laura-Jane McRae.
