Clerkenwell Films has hired Sami El-Hadi as Executive Producer.
El-Hadi joins Clerkenwell Films from the BBC where he was Head of Development, working closely with the Director of Drama Lindsay Salt across all greenlight decisions and long-term strategy for the slate, as well as exec producing shows including This City is Ours and Dear England.
Prior to the BBC, El-Hadi worked at The Forge and Working Title, where he served as Script Editor and Development Executive, and before that he worked at Channel 4 as part of the drama development team.
Recent shows produced by the two-time Peabody Award-winning Clerkenwell Films include the Netflix global smash hit Baby Reindeer, which won multiple awards including 3 BAFTAs, 6 Emmys and 3 Golden Globes, Somewhere Boy (Channel 4), Cheaters (BBC), Truelove (Channel 4), as well as The End of the F***ing World (Netflix/Channel 4) and Misfits (Channel 4), both of which won the BAFTA for Best Drama Series.
Upcoming series for the company include The Death of Bunny Munro for Sky, starring Matt Smith and based on Nick Cave’s novel of the same name, and Alice and Steve for Disney+, starring Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement.
