The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has appointed Caro Lakos as the new Film Manager at Film Barking and Dagenham.
Lakos joins the team from 3 Mills Studios, where she played a pivotal role in attracting and facilitating high-profile studio and location shoots over the past four years. In her new position, she will drive filming activity across the borough, promoting its portfolio of locations and state-of-the-art Studios, including the newly opened 12 sound stages at Eastbrook Studios and The Wharf Studios.
Cllr Dominic Twomey, Leader of Barking and Dagenham, said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Caro Lakos, who has a wealth of film industry experience and know how, as the new Film Manager for Barking and Dagenham. I can’t wait to see her immense talents brought to our borough, which is home to some of the country’s biggest studios and has hosted huge Hollywood blockbusters. While attracting more large productions to B&D will be a big part of her role, just as importantly she will be making sure that our residents get the chance to play their part in the borough’s burgeoning film industry”
Lakos is also is an active member of the TV Access Project and is a member of the British Screen Forum Future Leaders initiative.
Speaking about her appointment, Lakos said: “I am excited to continue championing positive change in the film and television sector whilst building Barking and Dagenham’s reputation as one of London’s most vibrant and film-friendly boroughs.”
