Studio Lambert has signed a first-look deal with writer, actor, and creator Daniel Lawrence Taylor.

Taylor is best known as the show runner behind the BBC’s comedy-drama Boarders and the new agreement gives Studio Lambert first-look rights to develop scripted projects with Taylor.

Taylor’s deal builds on the success of Boarders which is set to return for a third and final series in 2026 on BBC iPlayer and BBC Three.

BAFTA-nominated Daniel Lawrence Taylor first rose to prominence with the cult hit Timewasters, which he created and starred in. Timewasters earned Taylor a nomination for Best Scripted Comedy at the 2018 BAFTAs.

Daniel Lawrence Taylor said: “Working on Boarders has been one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences of my career. Collaborating with the team at Studio Lambert has been a true pleasure. It only makes sense to keep that momentum going. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and I can’t wait to push the boundaries even further and see what we cook up next.”

Madeleine Sinclair, Creative Director, Scripted, Studio Lambert, said: “Daniel is a truly singular talent. His writing crackles with energy and insight, humour and heart. At Studio Lambert, we strive to develop dramas that are bold, relatable, and impossible to ignore – and Daniel’s work embodies that ethos. He’s been a total joy to work with on Boarders and we’re thrilled to continue our creative journey with him. I’m excited for what’s to come.”
