ITV’s Head of Factual Entertainment Sue Murphy has hired two new Factual Entertainment Commissioning Editors, Kate Teckman (pictured) and Nicola Lloyd.

 

Kate Teckman joins ITV from Channel 4, where as Commissioning Editor, Features her commissions have included Realscreen winner and BAFTA-nominated George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces, Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners, Three In A Bed and Four In A Bed, Embarrassing Bodies: Live From The Clinic, It Was Alright In The 70’s, Thelma’s Gypsy Girls, Shed Of The Year, For The Love of Cars, The Autistic Gardener and Ugly House To Lovely House.

 

During her seven years as a Channel 4 Commissioning Editor, she has been responsible for shows including Grand Designs, Embarrassing Bodies, Location, Location, Location, How Clean Is Your House, How To Look Good Naked and Restoration Man.

 

After starting her career at GMTV, she spent 15 years as a freelancer working on a wide variety of factual entertainment programmes, ranging from popular documentaries, entertainment shows with Jonathan Ross and Johnny Vaughan, to six years on Eurotrash.

 

Nicola Lloyd joins ITV from Twenty Twenty, where she was Executive Producer of the Bafta award-winning First Dates, a series she has both executive produced and series edited.

 

Prior to First Dates, Nicola worked as a Series Producer on Gordon Ramsay’s return to UK screens, Ramsay’s Costa Del Nightmares, and series produced the observational documentary series What Happens In Kavos. Her credits also include series directing on the BAFTA award-winning CBBC series The Big Performance, presented by Gareth Malone, and producer/directing on the Sky 1 series, Pineapple Dance Studios.

 

During her career she has also producer/directed on a number of ITV shows, including Text Santa, Superstar and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here Now.

 

ITV’s Head of Factual Entertainment, Sue Murphy, said: "Kate is  an exceptionally creative and original Commissioning Editor. She’s very experienced across both the commissioning and the ‘editing’ side of the job and always makes programmes better.  Kate instinctively understands formats, factual entertainment and features, has good ideas and is passionate about great telly. I’m really pleased she’s joining us at ITV.

“Nicola combines brilliant factual entertainment sensibilities with excellent judgement and quality control.  She is great at managing talent both on-screen and off and her breadth of experience across formats, documentaries and talent-led shows makes her a perfect fit for ITV."

 

Kate Teckman said: “I’ve had a brilliant, creative time at C4 and enjoyed working with many of the country’s best  factual production companies. Now I am delighted at this incredibly exciting opportunity to help create a whole new generation of factual entertainment brands for ITV.  I think it is going to be a lot of fun.”

 

Nicola Lloyd said: “I’m really pleased to be joining the ITV commissioning team at such an exciting time. I’m so proud that for the past couple of years I’ve been able to work on First Dates, a series that I adore and that I’ve been able to grow into the prime time hit that it’s now become. However, I’m ready to refocus my passion for great formats and can’t wait to get stuck in to helping reshape the output of fact ent at ITV under Sue’s leadership. "
