Welsh indie Yeti Television has made a trio of hires to form a new global development team and work up a slate of projects to take direct to the US and global streamers.
Yeti’s international ambitions have been boosted by the award of a “significant grant” from the BFI’s Global Screen Fund.
Heading up a brand-new global development team is Executive Producer Anna Davies.
Also joining the global development team at Yeti are assistant producer Daniel Gilbert who has previously worked at Arrow, Fulwell 73 and CTVC and trainee assistant producer Eva Sinclair who previously worked at Murder in the Carpark indie Indefinite Films. Sinclair joins Yeti under the Mission Accomplished AP Development Scheme.
With over 25 years’ experience in unscripted television and a passion for storytelling, Davies will lead the new team at Yeti building a slate of history, true crime and other premium content for a global audience.
Prior to Yeti, Davies ran development at Arrow Media, where she was pivotal in creating projects including A&E’s Secrets of the Hells Angels; numerous series and specials for Investigation Discovery including Feuds Turned Fatal, Late Night Lock Up and Caught in the Net; premium box-set I, Sniper: The Washington Killers for Vice/C4, and America’s Hidden Stories: The Osage Murders for Smithsonian/Paramount+.
Her credits as an Exec, Series Producer and Producer/Director include Secret History: Shakespeare’s Tomb, Wife Swap, Parking Mad, the Grierson-nominated Live 8: Twenty Years Ago Today, Children’s Hospital, and Katie Price: Standing Up For Harvey.
Yeti’s Creative Director, Siân Price, says: It’s a real coup for Yeti to have attracted someone of Anna’s calibre and talent on board. She brings not only a wealth of experience and relationships in the world of global streamers and US platforms, but also incredible ideas and leadership. As the UK market continues to shift and change, it’s a bold strategic decision for Yeti to target the US and streamers in earnest. I’m delighted to welcome Anna on board and excited to see what the future brings!
Anna Davies says: I’m thrilled to be joining Yeti at such an exciting time. The appetite for smart, distinctive factual content with global resonance is stronger than ever. I’m looking forward to helping shape the next chapter of Yeti’s international growth.
The global team will work alongside Yeti’s existing development team (led by Sarah Stevenson) who continue to focus on UK PSBs, digital platforms and brand-funded content.
The expansion of Yeti’s team comes as they announce their first streamer commission in a deal brokered by Sphere Abacus. Surviving the Tunisia Beach Attack (1 x 90) is the definitive account of the 2015 massacre told through eyewitness testimonies of British survivors. The film is directed and produced by Clare Sturges, exec-produced by Siân Price and will drop on Amazon Prime Video on 25th May 2025.
Yeti has a further 9 yet to be announced projects currently in production.
