Wonderhood Television, the TV arm of Wonderhood Studios, has made two key promotions within Development and Operations.

Former Head of Production, Lianne Hickey is promoted to the new role of Director of Productions and Operations and former Head of Development, Tom Garton, is promoted to the newly created role of Director of Development.

Since joining Wonderhood in 2022, Lianne Hickey has worked across programmes such as Evacuation (C4), Super Surgeons (C4) The Kidnap of Angel Lynn (C4), Dodi: Last Days of a Playboy (Paramount+) and Fur Babies (C4) and has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth and industry recognition, most notably receiving nominations for “Best Emerging Indie” 2024 and “Best Places to Work” 2024.

With over 25 years’ experience, Lianne Hickey has worked on Emmy and RTS winning shows and has a BAFTA nomination for the Rap Game UK. Before joining Wonderhood in 2022, she was Head of Production at Naked Television working across a slate of programmes including Grand Designs, The Apprentice and Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile, and prior to Naked, she worked at Firecracker Films overseeing productions including My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and Single Mums Club.

Tom Garton has played a significant role in the indie’s creative growth since joining Wonderhood in 2019 as a Development Executive and was then promoted to Head of Development in 2022. He has developed and produced premium factual films and series including Devil’s Advocate: The Mostly True Story of Giovanni Di Stefano (Sky Documentaries) which he produced, Dodi: Last Days of a Playboy (Paramount+) and Scouting for Girls: Fashion’s Darkest Secret (Sky Documentaries) as well as an upcoming feature documentary for the (BBC/Fifth Season). He has also developed popular factual programmes including Heston’s Marvellous Menu (BBC Two), Trump in Tweets (BBC Three), the indie’s latest format Fur Babies (Channel 4) and a new, fixed rig documentary format for Channel 4.
