Vubiquity has signed multi-year extension to its wholesale content supply chain contract with Sky.
The deal means Vubiquity will continue to manage and deliver Sky’s content to the catch-up and on-demand services of Sky’s wholesale customers in the UK such as Virgin Media, TalkTalk and BT.
Vubiquity has managed this content supply chain for Sky since 2012 and processes and delivers more than 5,000 hours of content every month for Sky, including turning around both pre-recorded and live content to catch-up services within 12 hours.
The work is tracked through a live dashboard and managed by a team based in Vubiquity’s London offices.
Mark Winterbottom, Director of Sky Channel Distribution at Sky, said: “It is crucial that we fulfil our obligations to our wholesale partners. Vubiquity delivers on time, every time with this service in a professional manner that gives us no hesitation to extend our agreement.”
Adam Poulter, Managing Director of Vubiquity International, said: “We are extremely proud of our services to Sky, which produces some of the best content in the world, and this long-term agreement consolidates the success of our relationship.
“The growth of catch-up services and OTT continues to provide content owners with new, fast and exciting routes to monetise both new and library content, and in some instances reinvigorating older media libraries. It provides a compelling and attractive proposition to content owners.”
