Twofour, an ITV Studios indie, has made senior editorial and production hires and undergone a management restructure to support a growing slate of factual, entertainment and reality commissions.
Karen Hudson joins as Head of Production, charged with delivering Twofour’s challenging slate across entertainment, reality, factual entertainment and documentary. Her credits include 007: Road To A Million, The Grand Tour, Made in Chelsea and The Island with Bear Grylls.
Dan Gray, who has executive produced the BBC series, I Kissed A Boy and I Kissed A Girl, is appointed as a staff executive producer, Reality and Entertainment. His credits include The Circle, Celebs Go Dating, Shipwrecked and Real Housewives of Cheshire & Jersey.
Four years ago, CEO Tim Carter appointed a new Twofour management team including Chief Creative Officer David Brindley, Managing Director Dan Adamson, Creative Director David Clews, Director of Production Shireen Abbott and Finance Director Jake Roberts to transform Twofour and build an entirely new slate of returnable factual, entertainment and reality formats in the UK and globally.
This past twelve months, that plan has come to fruition with a slate of new formats including the award-winning I Kissed A Boy/I Kissed A Girl (BBC), ITV Studios’ first unscripted series for Apple TV+, The Reluctant Traveller with Eugene Levy and ITVX’s first, largest original reality series commission, Loaded in Paradise. All of which were recommissioned.
The indie is now making further changes to the existing management structure.
David Clews will focus on the company’s popular documentary output as well as building new streamer relationships as Chief Creative Director. His credits include the Educating… brand, Royal Marines Commando School, Matt Willis: Fighting Addiction, The Real Marigold Hotel and Loaded in Paradise.
Shireen Abbott is promoted to Director of Production and Operations. As well as overall responsibility for production with a special focus on the most logistically ambitious formats, she now heads up the company’s operational and commercial strategy. Karen Hudson will report into Shireen, as will Twofour’s Executive-in-Charge of Production, Lily Fitzpatrick, who has delivered the Reluctant Traveller alongside Nic Patten.
Nic Patten, who has executive produced a raft of Twofour shows, including the recent series of The Reluctant Traveller with Eugene Levy, will step up to Creative Director. Nic’s credits include Loaded in Paradise, Roman Kemp: The Fight for Young Lives and The Real Marigold on Tour.
CEO Tim Carter said: “After immense work from everyone at Twofour, we’ve reached a thrilling and decisive moment in our growth. We now have the talent and structure to propel Twofour into that select group of companies trusted to deliver television’s biggest shows.”
MD Dan Adamson said: “We know that great shows are all about building great and inclusive teams to deliver them, so expanding our senior team and strengthening our management structure really allows us to focus on super serving the channels, streamers and talent we are working with.”
CCO David Brindley said: “We’re delighted to welcome Karen and Dan to the team. With Shireen, David and Nic stepping in to expanded roles too, Twofour continues to be a place where culture matters, and our production and editorial teams operate as one right from development through to delivery. This will only further allow us to create and deliver the most ambitious new formats in the UK and globally.”
