The Trusted Partner Network (TPN), the global content security initiative led by the Motion Picture Association (MPA), has launched the Fix It or Risk It campaign designed to help the entertainment industry recognise everyday security risks and take practical action before small vulnerabilities become bigger problems.

Launching at IBC 2026, the campaign comes at a time of increasing security activity across the media and entertainment supply chain. As of June 2026, the number of TPN security alerts was already more than double the total recorded during all of 2025.

Security incidents often begin with ordinary moments: a stolen password, missing multi-factor authentication, an unpatched system, or a configuration error that goes unnoticed. “Fix It or Risk It” helps organisations identify these risks and act on them through a free online toolkit featuring practical guidance, policy templates, training, media resources, and a free gap analysis.

Available free of charge at www.fixitorriskit.org, the “Fix It or Risk It” toolkit organizes actions by level of effort, helping freelancers and organizations of any size focus first on straightforward, no-cost actions that can deliver significant security benefits, before moving on to improvements requiring more coordination or longer-term planning.

“Cybersecurity can feel complex, expensive and difficult to tackle, particularly for smaller organizations,” said Terri Davies, President of TPN. “Fix It or Risk It is about making the next step clearer. Many meaningful improvements are achievable with relatively little cost or effort, and this campaign gives organizations practical ways to get started.”

Launch partners include Cinema United, ConvergentDS, CyberRatings.org, DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, Film Content Protection Agency (FCPA), Film Distributors Association (FDA), Formula Dot AI, Foundry, The Global Creative & Security Community (GC-SC), The Global Entertainment Awards (GEA), Hollywood Professional Association (HPA), IAMT, Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Iyuno, Levira Media Services, Movielabs, The North American Broadcasters Association (NABA), Once Upon A Time, Ooona, Piracy Monitor, Royal Television Society Technology Centre, Security4Media, Signiant, Sohonet, Tech Align Group, Televisual, TMT Insights, TransPerfect, UK Screen Alliance, and United Talent Agency (UTA).

TPN will bring “Fix It or Risk It” to the stage at IBC2026 through three panel sessions exploring the security challenges facing the media and entertainment supply chain and highlighting practical actions organizations can take to reduce everyday risk:

Friday, September 11 at 3:30 p.m.: What’s Important Right Now (WIRN) panel on the Ignite Stage at the RAI

Saturday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m.: Fix It or Risk It panel at the ConvergentDS event at The Traveller restaurant

Saturday, September 12 at 10:45 a.m.: Fix It or Risk It panel with Netflix, NBCUniversal, MPA and Once Upon A Time on the Ignite Stage at the RAI

Following the launch at IBC2026, TPN and its partners will continue to share practical content and resources designed to help organizations make security part of everyday working practices.
