Channel 4 has released a trail and first look images for psychological thriller Hunting Alice Bell, produced by Clapperboard Studios. The series, acquired by the channel, will launch this Autumn.

Created by David Baddiel with Peter Bradshaw, the six-part fictional series was co-written by Baddiel, Bradshaw, Polly Buckle and Kate Verghese. Paul Walker directed all episodes.

Alice Bell is a former nurse, and also the lover, and accomplice, of a notorious anaesthetist serial killer. She is presently living in Britain under a new identity. When, online, Fran Da Silva is accused of being Alice Bell, her happy family life implodes in a wave of mob hate. Then she discovers she’s not the only woman to suffer this fate. Fran and the other accused women band together to fight back and clear their names.

The series stars Alex Roach (Nightsleeper) as Fran, Amanda Abbington (Sherlock) as Julie, Emily Barber (MobLand) as Vanessa, Toni O’Rourke (God’s Creatures) as Ros, Christina Bennington (Halo) as Charlotte, Rudi Dharmalingam (The Lazarus Project) as Nick, with Ralf Little (Death in Paradise) as Graham Hunter and Simon Pegg (Mission Impossible) as Dr Jason Nash.

Hunting Alice Bell was acquired for Channel 4 by Polly Scates, Head of Acquisitions. The series is produced by Clapperboard in association with Sphere Abacus. Hunting Alice Bell is executive produced by Mike Benson and Rachel Gesua for Clapperboard Studios, David Baddiel, Peter Bradshaw, Polly Buckle, Jonathan Ford and Will Stapley. It is produced by Tamryn Reinecke.

Since launch, Clapperboard has delivered over 32 series and 155 hours of prime time television, including ratings winners Love Rat, The Holiday, Cooper & Fry, The Cuckoo, The Game and Number One Fan for 5 and Girl Taken, The Castaways, The Ex-Wife and The Serial Killer’s Wife for Paramount+.

Dramas Clapperboard is currently working on include The Day for Paramount+ and Paris is Always a Good Idea for Hallmark Media, Benidorm is Murder, The Heights and An Impossible Way to Die for 5 and Hunting Alice Bell for Channel 4.

Returning dramas include The Teacher anthology series, The Good Ship Murder and The Madame Blanc Mysteries created and co-written by Sally Lindsay and co-produced by Clapperboard.
