Timeline Television, is providing RF facilities for Arctic Live on BBC Two.

Arctic Live, is a new three-part series broadcasting from the edge of the Canadian Arctic. Kate Humble, Simon Reeve and Gordon Buchanan will be live on the shores of Hudson Bay tracking the behaviour of the polar bears that live there.

Timeline is providing facilities including flyaway production facilities, radio cameras and presentation facilities on two huge, 4WD Tundra Buggies that will act as mobile camera platforms. One will carry the presentation team, while the other will be used to track some of the remote Arctic wildlife action.

All the camera feeds from the buggies will be IP wireless linked using the latest H265 technology, over 20km back to the main site in Churchill, where Timeline will be providing production facilities. In addition, COFDM links carry camera video feeds over the same path. The main production gallery is equipped with Timeline’s matrix, vision control, video server and control of remote switching on the buggy over the RF data link. Timeline is also providing the satellite uplink for the live broadcasts to BBC viewers in the UK.
