The Unofficial Science Of… is set to return to Sky Max with two new specials: The Unofficial Science of Die Hard and The Unofficial Science of Indiana Jones.

Set for a Christmas release, Chris Ramsey and Paul Chowdhry, alongside engineer Zoe Laughlin, will scientifically assess stunts from much-loved Christmas action film, Die Hard. From rooftop escapes to walking over shattered glass, Chris and Paul will put the stunts to the test to discover how to tackle them in real life. Along the way, the pair will set out to answer the biggest question of all: is Die Hard a Christmas film?

Also coming soon to Sky Max, Greg James and Maisie Adam team up to take on the Indiana Jones film series. The pair will learn how to dodge poisonous darts, outrun giant boulders, and survive fireballs.

Whilst both duos explore the stunts of the films, Alex Brooker returns to explore the sets and meet iconic cast members to hear their favourite on-set memories.

Produced by Naked, a Fremantle label, The Unofficial Science of Die Hard (1×90) and The Unofficial Science of Indiana Jones (1×90) were commissioned by Phil Edgar-Jones, Director of Sky Arts and Entertainment on behalf of Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content for Sky UK and Ireland.

“I’m excited to be collaborating once more with Naked on such an original and entertaining format, and I’m so looking forward to watching Chris, Paul, Greg and Maisie take on some of the most iconic and well-loved stunts in the history of cinema,” said Shirley Jones, Commissioning Editor for Sky.

Managing Director of Naked, Tom O’Brien added: “It’s great to be back working with Sky on two more Unofficial Science specials. The unique mix of comedy, big stunts, seasonal cheer, and premium sheen make them a must-see spectacular. One that’s really blown up with the viewers.”

The first Unofficial Science special, The Unofficial Science of Home Alone, which explored the cult-classic Christmas film, was Sky’s biggest original entertainment launch of 2022.
