Studio Lambert is expanding into shiny floor entertainment shows by launching a new production label called Glitterbox.

Twofour head of entertainment Cat Lawson will run the new division. As Creative Director of Glitterbox, Lawson will report to Studio Lambert Chief Executive, Stephen Lambert.

Glitterbox will have its own development staff, but will also work collaboratively with the existing Studio Lambert development team and its Creative Director, Tim Harcourt.

Lawson has been the Head of Entertainment at Two Four for the last two years where, most recently, she has been one of the executive producers of the new ITV Davina McCall show This Time Next Year.  She has also been executive producing Dating In the Dark for ITV2.   She was an executive producer the last two series of The Jump for Channel 4 and previously she was the series producer of X Factor, Celebrity Big Brother, The Million Pound Drop and Who Wants to be a Millionaire?  She began her career at ITV working on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, Dancing on Ice, Hell’s Kitchen and Love Island.

“I am thrilled that someone with Cat’s impressive and extensive experience of producing many of the most popular entertainment shows in the world has agreed to lead our new push into this exciting genre,” said Lambert.

“I have been wanting to run my own operation for some time now,” said Lawson, “and working with the Studio Lambert team is very attractive because of their great track record in creating UK formats and then making them into hits on US television.”

Studio Lambert first foray into shiny floor shows has been studio dating show Naked Attraction for Channel 4.  “We’ve been developing some big new studio entertainment ideas recently,” said Lambert, “and now we have Cat on board we look forward to honing them with her and taking them out to market.”

In the US, Glitterbox formats will be produced by Studio Lambert’s LA operation run by its president, Greg Goldman, together with the All3Media America production team.

Studio Lambert, whose shows include Gogglebox and Tattoo Fixers, has also recently launched a new drama division.
