New meetup group Soho Media Club launches with its first event this month, where Horrible Histories: The Movie writer Jessica Swale and colourist Jet Omoshebi feature in a line-up of industry speakers.

The club, co-founded by content producer Jaisica Lapsiwala and workflow engineer Tom Witkowski, has been set up to encourage collaboration in the media production, post-production and distribution community. Each month will see an event at a secret Soho venue, revealed only to the members who sign up to attend.

Each meetup will kick off with speakers from different disciplines and backgrounds from across the industry sharing their stories and opinions on recent projects they have worked on, where they see the biggest challenges in the industry and look at better ways of working as a collective.

Hosted by digital producer Muki Kulhan, this month’s event takes place on Wednesday, 31st July. Jessica Swale, writer of Horrible Histories The Movie and Jet Omoshebi, senior colourist at Goldcrest will be joined by Nick Roberts, ADR mixer, Warner Bros, David Pope, ceo, MusicScreen and Chloe Blackwell, post-production supervisor, Click Post Production.

Anyone wanting to attend can go to www.sohomediaclub.com to register interest in membership.
