Endemic Shine’s Sidney Street is making a new BBC1 cookery show fronted by Mary Berry, Mary Berry’s Quick Cooking (w/t).

Commissioned by Charlotte Moore, Controller, BBC One and David Brindley, BBC Head of Commissioning, Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment, the six-part, half hour series is currently in production, due to transmit in 2019.

Mary Berry’s Quick Cooking (w/t) follows Berry as she visits far flung cities as well as “places closer to home that we don’t normally have access to” and “explores some of the most exciting places that have mastered or inspired the very best of speedy cooking from Marrakech’s medinas, and the cobbled back streets of Rome, to the buzzing West End of London with its fiery China Town kitchens and the festival foodies of Camp Bestival.”

David Brindley said: “We couldn’t be more delighted to be welcoming Mary back to BBC One with this exciting new series. Everyone wants to know how to make the most delicious food in the shortest possible time, and who better to show us than the doyenne of home cooking. This series promises some unforgettable moments – Mary venturing to Rome, Marrakesh, and of course, ending up on stage with Rick Astley as his drummer after cooking up a storm at a music festival. As if you couldn’t love her any more…"

Karen Ross, Managing Director of Sidney Street, said: “We all love Mary. She has a magic and adventure in her soul that makes this a very special series – ambitious, fun and delicious. The perfect combination."

Karen Ross is Executive Producer, with Mark Ball as Series Producer, Dave Crerar as Series Director and Alice Binks as Event Producer.
