The fourth series of Netflix drama, Lupin, is now in production in Paris with Omar Sy back in action as Assane Diop, the gentleman thief.

In Part 3, we see Assane (Sy) steal the Black Pearl, earn the support of the French public, fake his own death, and save his estranged mother’s life. That’s all before realizing the only way he can ensure a safe and quiet life for his family is to sacrifice himself, and he turns himself into the police. Part 3 ends with Assane behind bars at last — we can only hope that imprisonment won’t last long.

The series is produced by Gaumont in collaboration with Carrousel Studios, the production outfit formed by Sy along with Louis Leterrier and Thomas Benski.

“I often say that Lupin is an extraordinary plaything. I find great joy in it every time,” said Sy. “Together with Netflix, Carrousel, and Gaumont, we’ve invested the time needed to raise our ambitions and deliver even more surprises and enjoyment, both for us and the audience. The fresh energy from Carroussel Studios aligns perfectly with this vision. I’m eager to share the new episodes with as many people as possible.”

Lupin is created by George Kay in collaboration with François Uzan, and with the participation of Marie Roussin, Florent Meyer and Tigran Rosine. Sy and Louis Leterrier serves as showrunners.
