Pioneer Productions has been commissioned by National Geographic to produce a new 2 x 60’ series that follows four species as they embark on the journey of motherhood.
Filmed over two and a half years, across Africa and the United States, the series tracks four animal mothers from conception, through their gestation and finally, to birth.
The series combines the latest scanning technology, with photo-real computer animation, to create “the most realistic picture ever of life inside the womb – giving us an intimate window on the weeks and months of each baby animal’s growth and development.”
The show will air in the UK over two weeks in December on National Geographic and is streaming now on Disney+ in the US.
In the Womb: Animal Babies is a 2 x 60 series by Pioneer Productions for National Geographic. It was executive produced by Thomas Viner and Peter Collins, with Kirsty Wilson as Series Producer and Alex Tate, Will Benson and Michael Davie as Producer Directors. The series will be distributed by National Geographic.
