Passion Pictures, the indie behind feature docs including Searching for Sugarman and Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, has hired Emily Jeal as Head of Feature Documentaries.
The newly established role comes after recent feature documentary success with Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story and two feature documentaries premiering at Tribeca Festival 2024; Antidote and Rebel Nun.
Jeal has played a key role in developing acclaimed Passion projects such as Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, which was acquired by Warner Bros, DC Studios, HBO Documentary Films, and CNN Films after Sundance and Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar (w/t)(BBC Fremantle).
Jeal has contributed to the development of Caroline Aherne: Queen of Comedy (BBC) and upcoming feature docs Rebel Nun and Antidote, both premiering at Tribeca this year.

Jeal was previously at Dragonfly Film & Television and Minnow Films, her work as a producer includes the BAFTA winner All in the Best Possible Taste with Grayson Perry (C4) and Little Richard: King and Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll (BBC & PBS), Inside the American Embassy (C4), and Fleetwood Mac: Don’t Stop (BBC). She has collaborated with talent like Sharon Horgan and Armando Iannucci. Currently, she is developing a slate of new feature documentaries at Passion, including a film about a trailblazing female US comedian and the story of an iconic music concert that changed history.
