Netflix has unveiled a slate of new commissions.
The new slate sees Kate Winslet, Clive Owen and Barry Keoghan join a drama line up alongside Maxine Peak, Anya Taylor Joy and Imelda Staunton; new comedy from writers Robert Popper (Friday Night Dinner) and Lisa McGee (Derry Girls); Luke Littler joining forces with Gary Lineker to lead the charge in live sports action, and The Sidemen bringing their latest venture to Netflix.

THE UNHEARD tells the story of two sisters (Kate Winslet & Maxine Peake) who go on the run after an act of vengeance goes wrong. It’s a new television drama from director Mounia Akl and writer Jack Thorne, from Warp Films, Matriarch and Plan B. Filming starts in 2027. In the previously announced BEAT LUKE LITTLER from Workerbee, Gary Lineker will join as host and Richard Osman as expert analyst on the live darts event that pits ambitious amateurs against the world number one: all for a chance to win £501,000. The live special will see 20 competitors from across the nation and beyond step up to the oche for the ultimate sporting challenge.
HOW TO KILL YOUR FAMILY from Sid Gentle has added to its cast with Clive Owen, Orlando Norman and David Shields joining Anya Taylor Joy in the series based on Bella Mackie’s bestselling novel. Series creator and lead writer is Emma Moran; execs are Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris, Lizzie Rusbridger and Emma Moran for Sid Gentle Films Ltd; Anya Taylor-Joy for LadyKiller. It will be directed by Josephine Bornebusch and Tom Kingsley and series producer is Nige Watson.
JONNY BOY is a five-episode series from the world of TOP BOY with Barry Keoghan reprising his role as Jonny. Written and created by Ronan Bennett. Exec producers are Charles Steel and Alasdair Flind for Cowboy Films, Ronan Bennett for Easter Partisan Films, Barry Keoghan, Des Byrne for Wolfcub Productions, Aubrey Drake Graham and Adel “Future” Nur for DreamCrew Entertainment, Maverick Carter and Jamal Henderson for SpringHill Studios, a Fulwell Entertainment label and Ali Abbasi. Abbasi will direct.
JAQ (wt) is also from the world of TOP BOY, a new series centered on the character of Jaq with Jasmine Jobson set to return. Created and written by Ryan Calais Cameron. Based on the series TOP BOY created by Ronan Bennett. JIG is a new comedy series from Derry Girls Creator Lisa McGee. Jig, a new six part mockumentary set in the high-stakes world of competitive Irish dancing, will shoot in Northern Ireland next year. Commissioned for Netflix from Orchid Pictures. Exec producers are Lisa McGee, Liz Lewin, Caroline Leddy & Suzanne Mackie (The Boys from Brazil, The Crown). MARBLES is a new family comedy from Robert Popper (Friday Night Dinner) starring Robert Webb, Timothy Spall, Alexandra Roach, Denise Welch and Loo Brealey. OUTSIDE is the latest spin-off from the Sidemen’s hit series Inside. A new group of content creators are thrown into the forest to battle for a prize of up to £1 million. The director is Gareth Birkett and the exec producers are Victor Bengtsson, Adam Cohen, Jack Richardson and The Sidemen.
UNTITLED DAHL STORIES FOR ADULTS is a 6-part series starring Naomi Scott, Josh Finan, Imelda Staunton, Nicola Coughlan, Toby Jones and Dominic West. The series is based on a collection of Roald Dahl’s short stories for adults which goes into production this month in Manchester and across the North of England. It’s written by Danny Brocklehurst and the execs are Gabriel Silver (Chernobyl, Gangs of London) and Suzanne Mackie (The Boys from Brazil, The Crown) for Orchid Pictures and Danny Brocklehurst (Brassic, Fool Me Once). Orchid Pictures’ Sophie Loizou (The Crown) is Development Producer. Block 1 director is Runyararo Mapfumo (Sex Education, Kaos) and the Block 2 director is Ben Gregor (‘The Magic Faraway Tree’, Brassic). Series producer is Sarah Lewis (The Long Shadow, The Forsytes). Filming has now started I Manchester and the North West.
