Motion Impossible has unveiled a new brand and company structure alongside two new products, V-Con Max and COMMANDER, ahead of IBC 2026 in Amsterdam.

The Bristol-based company works across camera movement, designs and builds robotics, stabilisation and software, brings technologies from different manufacturers together and supports crews using those systems around the world.

Its new structure brings that work into three connected areas: MI Robotics, MI Solutions and MI Live.

MI Robotics covers the hardware and software Motion Impossible designs, builds and integrates from select partners; MI Solutions brings different technologies together through specification, workflow design, systems integration and sales; and MI Live provides servicing, support, training and additional system hire for AGITO customers working in live production.

The company has also announced  V-Con Max, a compact mechanical vertical stabiliser designed for moving camera platforms.

V-Con Max provides 140mm of vertical travel and supports payloads from 10–70kg, isolating the camera from bumps, vibration and sudden movement without motors or external power. As a fully mechanical system, it is also completely silent.

The system started life as a stabiliser developed for AGITO Cine. Early versions were put through their paces by Motion Impossible CEO, co-founder and wildlife cameraman Rob Drewett during production on Disney’s Underdogs and Netflix’s Predators.

Those shoots showed the team that the technology had a role beyond AGITO Cine, leading Motion Impossible to develop it into a standalone system.

Dual Mitchell mounts allow V-Con Max to be integrated with tracking vehicles, ATVs, boats, dollies, speed-rail structures and bespoke camera platforms. And unlike traditional arm- based systems, the payload remains aligned on its vertical axis, keeping the area around the camera clear and providing an unobstructed 360° field of view.

Motion Impossible has also just announced COMMANDER, a new software platform for unifying robotics, movement technologies and production tools in one control environment.

Rather than being built around a single robot or manufacturer, COMMANDER gives crews a common way to control supported systems. Robotic dollies, remote heads, arms, rail systems, sliders, PTZs and elevation can all sit within the same workflow, alongside lens control.

Operators can create and recall moves, build timelines, manage multiple systems and monitor connected devices in real time. Live camera feeds can also sit alongside telemetry, giving crews a clearer view of the production without constantly switching between applications.

COMMANDER also connects movement with the wider production through timecode and GPIO, with external control through Stream Deck and SKAARHOJ.

The platform has been developed to be manufacturer-agnostic, with support for more third- party technologies being added as it evolves. The thinking behind it is straightforward: crews shouldn’t need a different control workflow for every piece of technology on a production.

Motion Impossible is actively inviting robotics manufacturers with encoder-based systems to get in touch about integrating their technology with COMMANDER, as it continues to expand the platform’s supported ecosystem.

Robotics is the starting point, but COMMANDER is being built with a wider production environment in mind. As the platform develops, Motion Impossible plans to bring more automation and production tools into the same workflow.
