Buccaneer Media, the production company behind Marcella, Whitstable Pearl and Crime has added two senior executives to its management team.

Moreyba Bidessie has joined the company as Executive Producer, a role that will see her work closely with joint CEO Tony Wood and Executive Producer Anna Burns to expand and develop Buccaneer’s scripted development slate.

Moreyba joins Buccaneer from A+E Networks International where she was Vice President International Scripted Development. She served as Executive Producer on A+E’s first official Co Production, drama ‘Miss Scarlet & The Duke’, modern espionage thriller ‘Red Election’ and oversaw creative development on A+E International’s original scripted acquisitions.

Previously Moreyba was Scripted Acquisitions Manager at Sky Vision, where she helped develop the company’s global scripted acquisitions strategy. Prior to Sky, Moreyba served as Global Acquisitions Manager at Fox International Channels / FNG.

Jo Evans also joins Buccaneer as Head of Production where she will oversee all the company production activity.

She joins Buccaneer from Tiger Aspect Productions where her credits include ‘Domina’, ‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘The A Word’. Her freelance Production Manager and Line Producer credits include ‘Hatton Garden’ for ITV Studios, ‘Rellik’ (New Pictures) and ‘Dr Foster’ (Drama Republic) for BBC One.

Moreyba and Jo will both report into Buccaneer’s joint CEO’s Richard Tulk-Hart and Tony Wood.

“Jo and Moreyba are joining Buccaneer at a very exciting time for the company. We have produced two big dramas during a very difficult year for everyone and have a number of shows set up around the world for next year and beyond, further fuelling our growth. Both Jo and Moreyba bring so much to the company in their area of expertise and it’s exciting to have them on board.” said Buccaneer Media joint CEO Richard Tulk-Hart.

“I am delighted to be joining such a fantastic, talented team of people and can’t wait to get going. Buccaneer has a world class development slate and I’m excited at the opportunity of working with some of the very best writing talent in the business” said Moreyba Bidessie, Head of Development, Buccaneer Media.

“I am thrilled to be joining Buccaneer Media, I have long admired their output and I am looking forward to getting to work on their exciting and diverse slate of projects” said Jo Evans, Head of Production, Buccaneer Media.

Buccaneer is currently in production on ‘Crime’, Irvine Welsh’s first novel adapted for TV for Britbox. The company also has several soon-to-be-announced projects in development with international partners.
