Crime+Investigation has announced the premiere of a new documentary dedicated to the Bristol suitcase murders.

The new two-part special Bodies on the Bridge, features the first broadcast interviews with those closest to the case. Premiering on Monday 7th September, the LongWave TV-produced documentary offers a “unique perspective on one of the UK’s most shocking recent murder investigations”, having been developed alongside the trial proceedings themselves.

In July 2024, the discovery of two suitcases containing human remains on Bristol’s iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge shocked the nation and sparked one of the UK’s most disturbing murder investigations in recent memory.

Bodies on the Bridge follows the investigation from the moment police are alerted to a man wheeling a heavy suitcase across a bridge in the early hours of the morning. When officers discover human remains inside two abandoned suitcases, detectives launch an urgent hunt to identify the victims and track down the person responsible.

Both the case itself in court, and the documentary draw upon a wealth of footage including CCTV, mobile phone recordings, Ring doorbell cameras and webcam footage, offering a detailed account of how detectives pieced together the case.

With “unprecedented” access to the court proceedings, investigators, police officers, journalists and friends connected to the case, the two-part special explores the murders of Albert Alfonso and Paul Longworth and uncovers their complex relationship with Yostin Mosquera, who was found guilty of the murders of the pair.
