London’s VFX Festival 2018 has announced the headline speakers at the February show with Framestore booked to talk through its work on Thor: Ragnarok and Paddington 2 and One of Us joins the festival to talk about its work on series 2 of The Crown.
Milk will also explain how it put together the Christmas Special Dr Who and The Mill will be presenting on its work for the John Lewis’ ‘Moz the Monster’ Christmas campaign.
Escape Studios runs the three-day event from 6th – 8th February 2018 the Rich Mix in Bethnal Green.
Games studio Creative Assembly will also be headlining, promising insight into how they craft gaming experiences. MPC’s VFX team lead who worked alongside Director Ridley Scott will be talk through the anatomy of an alien, from their work on Alien: Covenant. Cinesite, MPC Advertising and Double Negative will also be hosting exclusive talks. Animation studio Blue Zoo, will be showcasing the studio’s latest short film "Mamoon", created using projected CG animation onto miniature polystyrene sets.
Award-winning, REWIND, will again be showcasing how they harness immersive technologies and discussing VFX to VR – Ghost In The Shell. Games studios including Climax Studios will be presenting on new and never seen, up and coming projects. Alongside Fire Without Smoke’s director & VFX Supervisor Hugo Guerra, who will be presenting on the making of the "The Walking Dead March to War", "Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle" and "Heroes Arena" reveal trailers.
