ITV has now permanently cancelled The Jeremy Kyle Show following the recent suicide of one of the show’s guests, Steve Dymond, soon after he’d taken part in an episode.

On Tuesday, ITV announced that it would be suspending production and broadcasting of the show until a review had taken place but today, ITV CEO Carolyn McCall, released a statement confirming the series’ complete cancellation.

McCall said: “Given the gravity of recent events we have decided to end production of The Jeremy Kyle Show.

“The Jeremy Kyle Show has had a loyal audience and has been made by a dedicated production team for 14 years, but now is the right time for the show to end.

“Everyone at ITV’s thoughts and sympathies are with the family and friends of Steve Dymond."

ITV said the previously announced review of the episode of the show is now underway and will continue and that ITV will continue to work with Jeremy Kyle on other projects.
