Harbor UK Entertainment has appointed Danny Duke as Head of VFX Features & Episodic.

Duke joins Harbor with more than two decades of experience spanning visual effects, production, games development and studio leadership. Most recently, he served as Production Director and Head of Film & TV at Absolute Post for nearly a decade, where he oversaw the visual effects across a slate of projects including Poor Things, How To Have Sex, The Buccaneers, Boiling Point, Great Expectations, Sweetpea and the critically acclaimed Adolescence.

At Harbor, Duke will work alongside VFX Producer Paul McCullough, commercial teams across Harbor’s global network and the team of artists, to build on the studio’s reputation in the space. Established two years ago, Harbor’s London VFX department now operates with a team of more than 40 artists delivering over 100 shots across feature and episodic productions. Recent credits include the  third series of the BBC’s The Capture and Sky’s Sweetpea, with several major streamer projects due to be announced shortly.

Based in London within the Farringdon studio, he will collaborate closely with Harbor’s facilities in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Atlanta. Recent credits from the London team include Legends (Netflix), All Her Fault (Sky Universal), Black Doves (Netflix), Alice & Steve (Disney), The Invite (A24) and the forthcoming feature Sense and Sensibility.

“Great visual effects work comes from strong creative partnerships, thoughtful planning, and a shared understanding of what the narrative needs. Danny has spent his career helping filmmakers, producers and artists bring these elements together. His experience across features and episodic, combined with his understanding of the creative process, aligns precisely with how we work at Harbor. We’re excited to welcome him to the team and continue building on the momentum the team have created in London,” said Thom Berryman, Managing Director, Feature & Episodic.

Alongside his studio leadership roles, Duke has also worked as an Executive Producer and Business Development lead for Tiny Giants, a multi-platform IP incubator developing original intellectual property across film, television and emerging media. Danny is also a longstanding board member of the Visual Effects Society UK.

“What attracted me to Harbor is its commitment to collaboration. Bringing together visual effects, colour, sound and finishing under one roof creates opportunities for better creative conversations, and ultimately stronger work. Harbor has built an environment centred around artists and filmmakers, and I’m looking forward to helping expand what’s possible for our clients and creative partners,” said Danny Duke
