Gearhouse Broadcast, Gearhouse Actis and Hyperactive Broadcast owner Gravity Media Group (GMG), has appointed Nicholas Smith to the newly-created role of marketing director.
Smith will oversee all marketing activities for GMG’s family of companies. He has over ten years’ experience of operating in sports and broadcast marketing working for companies like ESPN across EMEA, Laureus World Sports Awards and Sport for Good Foundation globally and Digicel SportsMax in the Caribbean. More recently in London he worked at brand agency WeAreFearless.
Smith joins Gravity Media Group as it focuses on global expansion after receiving investment from TowerBrook Capital Partners in September 2016.
“Nicholas brings a wealth of digital knowledge and brand awareness into this role that’s been created to help us continue to grow our presence globally,” said John Newton, ceo of Gravity Media Group. “The development of strategic digital partnerships, client services and content creation are all focuses for 2017 so his knowledge of that space will be invaluable.”
Commenting on his appointment Smith said: “This is an exciting new challenge for me and I’m looking forward to using my global branding, content creation and digital expertise to help showcase how Gravity Media Group’s businesses are helping to capture the world’s most watched content. Joining the company at a time where expansion and client satisfaction are the key drivers is an exciting prospect and one of the things that makes this new position so interesting.”
