Channel 4 has commissioned Firecrest Films to make a new five-part peak-time consumer series looking at tips and tricks to secure bargain holidays.

Jasmine Harman will front the show unveiling tips and industry secrets “which will help will viewers to spot the real bargains and make their money go further.”

Insiders from the world’s biggest travel companies will lift the lid on pricing strategies to marketing tricks and the series “uncovers the truth behind all-you-can-eat buffets, cruise drinks packages, airline dynamic pricing and the FOMO marketing tactics designed to push us into booking in haste.”

The series spans cruises, long-haul escapes, all-inclusive packages, city breaks and classic beach holidays.

Glasgow-based commissioning editor for Channel 4, Deborah Dunnett, commented: “We’re excited to be working with Firecrest Films on this new commission that will offers viewers a rare glimpse behind the curtain of the travel industry and help us all secure a bargain holiday.”

Bargain Holiday Secrets was commissioned for Channel 4 by Deborah Dunnett, Commissioning Editor, Lifestyle, with Jo Street, Director of Commissioning, Nations & Regions & Head of Lifestyle. Tim Dowse is the series producer, with Clare Fraser as Prodcution manager and Nicole Kleeman as Exec Producer. The commission from Channel 4’s lifestyle department was made before Firecrest Films was acquired by Channel 4’s Creative Investment Fund.
