Channel 4 has commissioned a new series celebrating the landscapes, people and culture of Scotland’s unsung coastline for a new More4 series.

Scotland’s Golden Coast, a new lifestyle series produced by Firecrest Films, captures the country’s east coast, from the Moray Firth down to Eyemouth by the English Border.

Filmed during Scotland’s busy summer season, the series follows people who live and work along the coastline as they welcome visitors, balancing thriving local businesses with the responsibility of preserving the history, character and natural beauty of the places they are proud to call home.

Channel 4’s Deborah Dunnett said: “As a proud Scot, I am delighted for viewers to discover Scotland’s Golden Coast, celebrating the landscapes, people, and culture of one of Scotland’s most beautiful and vibrant regions. While we’ve named it for its sandy beaches, the series reveals so much more for viewers to see through the eyes of the lucky souls who call these places home.”

Executive Producer at Firecrest, Nicole Kleeman said, “What an absolute delight to make this stunning series on our doorstep. This is a glorious side of Scotland, which makes for utterly joyful TV.”

Scotland’s Golden Coast (10×60’) is commissioned for Channel 4 by Deborah Dunnett, Commissioning Editor, Lifestyle, with Jo Street, Director of Commissioning, Nations & Regions & Head of Lifestyle. The Series Producer is Jane Handa, Production Manager Clare Fraser, and Executive Producer Nicole Kleeman. This series is being distributed by Orange Smarty.
