Hire firm Finepoint Broadcast is making a “major expansion” to its broadcast equipment dry-hire fleet with a £2m investment scheduled over 12 months.
4K/UHD has been a focus for the investment already with Sony HDC-4300 and HDC-4800 cameras and associated 4K Canon lenses already purchased.
"Hiring enables our customers to match their equipment needs to specific projects without incurring heavy capital costs. It also cushions them from the rapid advances currently taking place in terms of production standards, notably the transition from HD to UHD, from SDR to HDR, from SDI to IP and conceivably from UHD to 8K,” said Finepoint’s Hire Manager, Clive Northen.
"Other recent additions to our rental fleet include EVS XT3 ChannelMax and Xfile3 production servers, Vinten Vector 430 pan and tilt heads and the flagship model in Sony’s professional monitor line-up – the BVM-X300 30 inch OLED."
